Neurology

A neurologist is a physician trained to investigate, diagnose and treat neurological disorders. Those disorders usually involve the nervous system which can be impacted by injuries, trauma, disease, and degenerative disorders. While neurology is a non-surgical specialty there are neuro-surgeons who do interventional procedures to help in treating disorders and injuries to the human nervous system.

Sometimes when a patient suffers a blunt force trauma such as a fall, or slip, or auto accident, or injuries sustained due to a physical assault, there could be neurological intervention needed because of the following:

  • Headaches
  • Dizziness
  • Head injury
  • Pain in the nerve endings (such as fingertips)
  • Motion sickness
  • Seizures
  • Nervousness

All of the above might require an evaluation, intervention and treatment by a Neurologist.
